Overview of Reactions

Reactions are automations programmed into the system, so that when a specific situation occurs on the site, a command or series of commands—similar to those in a macro—are automatically executed.

For example, in Total Building Solution (TBS) architectures (combination of danger management and building automation), a reaction may be configured to control a fire door or a ventilation system when a fire alarm occurs.

Reactions are configured in Engineering mode. For related procedures, see the step-by-step section.

In Operating mode you can only view the reactions already configured in the system, and issue commands to enable or disable them.

Macros and reactions system limits

On each Desigo CC server:

- A maximum of 800 macros and/or reactions, in total, can be configured.

- A maximum of 320 macros and/or reactions, in total, can be executed at the same time.

Reaction License and Access Rights

Reactions are covered by license. Check that the required licenses are available in the system, otherwise you may not be able to configure reactions. For instructions, see Checking Licenses.

The basic reactions license only lets you use Time and Organization Mode triggers. The extended reactions license lets you use all three kinds of triggers. Depending on what licenses are installed, one of the following situations may occur:

Even when the license is installed, the availability of reactions depends on your user group rights. If you do not have appropriate application rights you may be able to view but not configure reactions, or you may not have access to this feature at all. If the Desigo CC project is stopped, or if the reaction licenses are lost for any reason, the reaction will resume when the Desigo CC client is restarted or when the licenses are re-installed.

Validation for Reactions

If the target object of a reaction is subject to validation, any reactions of a target object with Validation Profile=Enabled or Monitored and the Four Eyes check box cleared will be executed.
