SNMP Troubleshooting

This section covers several areas of troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting SNMP Driver Error

A tool can show the object name based on the numeric data System, Datapoint, and Element.

When an SNMP property is not read properly (#COM state), the Log Viewer indicates the SNMP driver error. However, the WCCOASNMP log contains the SNMP Object Identifier (OID), based on a numeric value (composed by <System>.<Datapoint>.<Element>), and fails to provide a direct reference to the affected object in System Browser.

Do the following:

  • From command line, run the tool WCCOAToolnameToId.exe with the following three parameters:
    -proj <project name> <System>.<Datapoint>.<Element>

For example: WCCOAToolnameToId.exe -proj MyProject 4.625082.6
  1. If found, the name of the corresponding object displays.

Troubleshooting Low Paper or Low Toner in SNMP Printers

Depending on the specific printer driver, the default behavior of Desigo CC SNMP-capable printers is to detect no paper and no toner even if paper or toner are low.

To detect low paper or low toner do the following:

  1. In System Browser, select Project > Field Networks > [SNMP network] > [SNMP printer].
  2. Select the Extended Operation tab.
  3. For each of the following properties, select True and then click Apply:
    • Enable Low Paper Detection
    • Enable Low Toner Detection
