Configuring SNMP Monitoring of a Printer

You can configure Desigo CC to monitor a connected SNMP-capable printer for fault conditions such as paper jammed, offline, and so on. For background information and troubleshooting, see SNMP Printer and SNMP Troubleshooting.

 

  1. You configured the SNMP driver and SNMP network and the driver is running. See Configuring the SNMP Connectivity.
  2. System Manager is in Engineering mode.
  1. In System Browser, select Management View.
  2. Select Project > Field Networks > [SNMP network].
  3. The System Management tab displays.
  4. Click New and select New SNMP Printer.
  5. In the New Object dialog box, enter a name and description.
  6. Click OK.
  7. The newly created SNMP printer object is automatically selected in System Browser.
  8. Enter the Host name or IP address of the connected SNMP-capable printer.
  9. (Optional) Modify one or more of the following settings:
    • Printer type (Line printer or Page printer. Default is Line printer.)
    • Notes
  10. Click Save .

Each SNMP printer inherits the same SNMP attributes. If the printer you are adding has different SNMP attributes, you must first create another SNMP network, and then add this printer.
