Troubleshooting Powermanager
The following section describes how to handle common import error conditions.

| The selected CSV import file cannot be loaded by the Desigo CC importer. | Verify that the CSV file uses a comma (,) character as separator. Any other character will result in an invalid file format. Refer to the sample CSV file provided. |

| The default Tomcat memory of 2500 MB is insufficient to generate a cache for a system with more than 500 managed meters configured. In such situations, you must set the Tomcat memory to a higher limit, for example, 6000 MB. | From the Services dialog box, stop the Tomcat service. Navigate to the following path: Select the Java tab and navigate to the Maximum memory pool field. Set the memory to a higher value and click Apply and OK. Now re-start the Tomcat service and try again. |

The system is found to contain WinCC OA licenses. You can transfer the licenses (or delete trial licenses) and start the installation again. | To access WSI from a remote machine, WEB server communication has to be secure. | Both the root and host certificates have to be created from server and must be imported in Client. |

Remote pointing license does not work- test connection fails in LMU application. | Issue may occur in virtual box machine when license in pointed from host machine. | Add two programs(LMS Imgrd & LMS siembt) to the firewall exception; make sure that the test connection is successful from VM’s LMU. Also, make sure that the ports for communicating with the host are opened on the firewall. |

The converted units from powermanager are not refreshed in the device graphics (default tab in Operating mode). | The converted unit from the device was changed and the user moved to the default tab in Operating mode. | Click the graphics page and press ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+O. Click Clear symbol cache in the new window. Navigate to the graphics node in system tree. Navigate back to the device node. |
The powermanager login screen does not load. | The project is not running properly or the closed mode service is not running. | Make sure that project and Siemens GMS closed mode service run properly. |
Certificate error when trying to launch the web application on IE remote machine. | This can appear when opening powermanager as a client in a browser. | Make sure that the certificates on the client computer are configured correctly. |
Managers do not run properly on the installed client machine. | Powermanager is installed as a client but there is a time difference between server and client. | Synchronize the system time of client and server. |
The filed system alarms do not load (High, Low). | Correct communication parameters must be used when the PAC4200 device is created and started. Alternatively, alarms are not loaded in the alarm bar of the powermanager application. | Check if the alarms are available in the PAC4200 device HMI If they are available on the device and not listed in the application, stop the device and start it again. |
There is a mismatch in count of High and Low alarms field of PAC4200 device. | Correct communication parameters must be used when the PAC4200 device is created and started. This may happen if the High and Low alarm counts (on the alarm bar of the powermanager application) are not the same as compared to the alarm count in device HMI. | Check if the alarms are available on the PAC4200 device HMI. Count the number of High and Low alarms on the device HMI. If there is a mismatch in the powermanager application, stop the device and start it again. |
There is a mismatch in alarm classes or alarm type on the PAC4200 device. | Correct communication parameters must be used when the PAC4200 device is created and started. Alternatively, there is a mismatch between the alarm configuration, like alarm classes or alarm type (High or Low), on the alarm bar of the powermanager application and the device HMI. | Check if the alarm class in the device HMI is same as per the configuration. Check if the alarm type in the device HMI is same as per the configuration. If there is a mismatch in the powermanager application, stop the device and start it again. |
SEM3 devices do not communicate with powermanager. | The Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN) setting on the Windows Server 2012 R2/Windows Server 2016 is enabled. Disable the ECN setting to work with SEM3 devices. | To disable the ECN setting, perform the following: - Open Command Prompt and run the below command to check the status of the ECN setting: - If ECN capability is set to enabled, then run the below command in Command Prompt to disable the ECN setting: |
| If the number of devices created exceeds the number of permitted devices by the purchased powermanager license pack, the system goes into courtesy mode. Deleting the excess devices does not move the system to power mode. | Restart the license related control manager in WinCC OA console.

| Existing third party device offsets are lost after upgrade. | 1. For existing impacted third party devices, manually set the Offset on device level in following way: Go to ManagementView > FieldNetwork > Modubus_GPM_Netwrok > Select the Device > navigate to primary pane > click the bubble icon and select Extended Operation and Set proper Offset in the text filed. 2. To create new devices for existing third party device types, Overwrite the third party device Type in powermanager by re-importing the JSON file, and then create new devices. All the new consequent devices will have the offset set as per selection done in tool. |
